I take Wellbutrin, and I was able to quit smoking cold turkey with absolutely no problem whatsoever. I was a half-a-pack-a-day smoker for 8 years and I just put them down one day and never had another one. It was very easy. I know that everyone is different, but Wellbutrin was a miracle drug for me as far as quitting smoking goes. Oh, I've been smoke free for 9 months now. =)I think it has also reduced my cravings for alcohol. Honestly, I never was much of a drinker but I really just don't care for it now. I haven't been trying to quit drinking, but I think it's probably been a few months since I've had a drink.
I am actually on nine different meds right now (how f'd up is that?) so I can't attribute it all to Wellbutrin, but I am certain that it helped me quit smoking. I am not lying to you when I tell you that it was really easy to quit smoking.
All that being said I still feel like a big bucket of f*ck emotionally. In case you're curious, here's the complete list of what my evil p-doc has me on now:
600mg Wellbutrin (Dr. says it's safe because I'm on two anticonvulsants)
60mg Remeron
120mg Cymbalta
1200mg Trileptal
200mg Lamictal
10mg Valium as needed (not very often-maybe 2-3 times a month)
150mg Trazodone (for insomnia)
50mcg Cytomel (to augment AD's-my thyroid is normal)
120mg Propranolol LA (for tremors caused by the hot sh*tty mess listed above)I hope you find some relief soon. Please keep us informed!
B =)
