But try it by all means. Its a good antidepressant & general anxiolytic but just doesn't seem to cut it SPECIFICALLY for social phobia. Tried Nardil (phenelzine)? That is THE Gold Standard social anxiety/phobia med (an MAOI) and is readily available in the US. And more & more doctors are becoming willing to prescribe it. Its an old drug (around since 1950s) but has an unbeatable track record for social anxiety/phobia. Some food & med restrictions need to be followed carefully, but are no problem for most. Side effects creep up on you & can also be troublesome for the first few months, but they literally dissappear if you're patient enough. IMO side effects from Nardil are much less troublesome than the SSRIs, especially for social anxiety/phobia sufferers who normally become zombies on SSRIs.
By all means try moclobemide first if you can get it & I hope you respond well to it.
