I've noticed the complementary effect: sudden rises in barometric pressure seem to perk me up and help me be happy. This is independent of the direct effect of sunshine, as I would notice it in while sitting in rooms with small curtained windows. I'd actually have to go outside to check whether it had actually cleared up.
