I have been taking Cytomel to augment antidepressants for about 8 years. 25 uG (or MCG, micrograms) worked quite well. My Pdoc sent me for evaluation by a thyroid specialist who said long term use of 25 uG would eventually cause the thyroid to permanently shutdown. He recommended 12.5 uG as a relatively safe maximum dosage.
Cytomel creates a mild hyperthyroid condition, which has a stimulating effect. I have never had a zombie effect. To rule that out try searching psychobabble and the web for Cytomel zombie.
Cytomel affects the whole system and may make things worse for a little while until all the changes settle out, which takes about 2-3 weeks for me.Timidly
