To be absolutely honest, it sounds like ADD meds may not be very helpful for you. You have tried amphetamine (Adderall) and dex-methylphenidate (Focalin) and they have caused side effects. Most of the other ADD meds are modifications of the above. Controlld-release formulations such as Concerta may sometimes cause fewer side effects but are generally expensive. Perhaps you would be helped more by a psychological treatment strategy? Alternatively, you could consider desipramine (Norpramin), a tricyclic antidepressant which has also proved useful in some cases of ADHD. Desipramine is a useful drug but you will never see it advertised - it is a very old medication.
