> I'd love to get some advice and input on using this supplement and it's effective dosage. My pdoc said that I could try it. I'm hoping it could replace one of my stimulants for ADD. I don't want to take two anymore. I'm on Ritalin/Adderallxr. Going to discontinue the Ritalin and replace it with L-phenylalanine and keep the Adderallxr. Can you give a little input. Greatly appreciated.
Its basicaly a essential amino acid,a excitatory one as you state with the idea of using it for adhd. Not to be a downer, but most people who attempt to use amino acids for mental issues usuualy dont find it sufficient.Because of the sudden raise you will likly find the initial benifit pleaseant, however after a short while its over excess quickly can cause a lot of problems, agitation, anxiety, insomnia etc.
Also when u supplement a amino, its not recomended it be done without a cycle,i.e a on/off period so the body can re-balance.
It is a stimulant thought, its even in gum and most sugar products.Liquid deprenyl is what id recomend before trying this.
DLPA is also similiar but with a mood elevaion property, and i believe one of the two are actualy banned in certain places in fear they are used to synthesis meth.
L-phen,and tyrosine, are two stimulant aminos,id recomend looking at a site that defines the amino acids,or a good book, its good to know what they do as they are the building blocks of the body.
