> I've been experiencing increasingly severe PMS, and I know that Prozac is frequently prescribed. My main symptom that I experience is a 10-day bout of irritability that is just ridiculous! I already am on 60mg of Cymbalta, for BPII. Can both medications be used at the same time? Should the Cymbalta be helping, maybe at a higher dosage? I already suffer from GAD as it is, and have been using .5mg xanax for that.

You don't mention if you are taking a routine mood stabilizer? If you have BP II, I certainly hope you are. If your not, a mood stabilizer will help with this. I don't think it's a good idea to be taking both AD's at the same time. You could be at risk to flip the switch, thus exacerbating mood cycling. If you are taking a mood stabilizer and still sleeping well, you could increase the Cymbalta slowly and see if this helps for relief of your symptoms. I know what you are saying, many of us bipolars are very sensitive to hormonal shifts with our monthly cycle.Polarbear
