In reply to Which meds improve social life? Ritalin did, posted by AdamCanada on January 24, 2007, at 2:12:23
Your complaints are common around here. Not sure if it is depression or paxil side effects. Could be either.
The novel stimulant provigil can do what you are looking for. Viewing the couple hundred users' experiences at remedyfind.com they are mostly positive with a few negatives. Mileage varies.
In the same category is the overseas mailorder Adrafinil. In europe it is prescribed as a vigilance promoting med, for example to get depressed senior citizens interested in life, people, and activities again.
You never know, maybe over a period of a couple months at a higher wellbutrin dose things will kick in for you. Of all the meds out there with the capability of doing what you want and having the least likelihood of konking out quickly like ritalin did, provigil or adrafinil came to mind.
I experienced a signifcant increase in sociability when I added low dose xanax to my ongoing meds. Strange, xanax didn't do that by itself. I had a lot of anxiety and nervousness at the time, so I think I just felt more sociable from being so much more comfortable and relaxed. The benzos could easily have the opposite effect and make things even more dull than they already are.
