Agree with Phillipa, not connected to the MAO's, probably something else going on with lung structure itself...so many other factors involved with pneumothoraxes (collapsed lung).
I worked with a woman who kept having spontaneous pneumothoraxes, but she never stopped smoking....she had what they call blebs in the lung tissue...weaknesses in physiological lung tissue that can rupture. I'm sure the smoking history increased the risk of the collapses.
