Come again, for me that is a bit like saying when I am tired I feel better after taking methamphetamine than two shots of espresso--klonopin and Zyprexa are not even in the same league and have vastly different
pharmacology and modes of action. If Zyprexa provides you substantial relief (and it well may)it is treating more than uncomplicated anxiety. I am not minimizing the pain and anguish of anxiety (having been there)but I would be concerned if readers thought Zyprexa was readily available off label for anxiety. There have been studies suggesting its use for refractory anxiety or for persons unresponsive to SSRIs, TCAs or where Bzs may be contraindicated. I am not aware of Zyprexa being used PRN for anxiety although it probably would be sedating. Of the APs I am most familiar with using Seroquel for anxiety because of its relative safety profile vis a vis other APs and its sedating properties. I would appreciate other's comments.
