I was taking topamax because I am constantly dizzy and I get headaches. I started off taking one 25mg pill a day of topamax and within three days the numbness started in my hands and feet. I started to take two a day, and the numbness then became constant and would get worse when my hands or feet were level or above level.
I also had trouble with my memory. I was constantly losing my train of thought and could spell easy words that I know how to spell. I also couldn't remeber words to a prayer that I have known since I was five.
I felt nervous in situations that I couldn't explain.
I have read online that alcohol effects may be increased, while taking topamax. I didn't know this and while on 50 mg I drank alcohol. Things happened that I honestly don't believe I was in control of. Then right after I didn't have any memory of what had happend until someone told me and it was like my memory came rushing back. I realize that this could all be because of alcohol alone, but I want to know if topamax could have had any thing to do with it.
I stopped taking topamax because the memory loss was starting to get scary. I am wondering if I should give it another try and see if the side effects go away and if it will help my dizzyness.
