It might.

Alprazolam (Xanax) is a triazolobenzodiazepine, as is its sister drug, adinazolam (Deracyn). Adinazolam is indeed an antidepressant, and is one of the cleanest drugs I have ever taken. My doctor at the time, Baron Shopsin, MD, was shocked that it actually worked for the patients he tried it on. Unfortunately, I was not one of his success stories. I don't know if it is currently available anywhere in the world. It was never sold in the US. The only other triazolo that I am aware of is triazolam (Halcion). It is the most potent hypnotic benzodiazepine, but I doubt it has any antidepressant properties.
