Hiya!
I only have one ovary too. Mine was removed at birth, because they found a cyst in it that was non-cancerous.
So I have all the plumbing for a female, minus one ovary. I don't quite understand what you're having removed??
Anyway, well as far as I go, my period cycles are every 30-35 days, I got my first period at 15 and 1/2, I get virtually no PMS or anything like that and my periods are pretty light. However, (a big however!) I have no idea if this is natural for me, or if it is down to one ovary. The docs tell me that the one ovary (because it was removed at birth) works just as if it were two ovaries (I think).
I have no idea how it effects my fertility either - I've never actively tried to get pregnant!! I'm assuming not much, because my periods are pretty regular etc.
You mention you get bad PMS - well have you tried magnesium??? Magnesium is great for PMS. Fantastic. And also you need to get some phyto-oestrogens in you, which in reality means eating alot of soya. And just being generally healthy, eating lots of fruit and vegetables and being physically active. Do you eat alot of red meat/dairy products?? Milk and red meat contain alot of hormone disrupting chemicals.Anyway, kind regards
Meri
