Prozac and Buspar Dosage Ratio?

Posted by Venus on May 19, 2006, at 22:46:08

Hello!
I am taking Buspar for anxiety and Prozac for severe depression (reoccuring suicidal thoughts), self-harm and obsessive compulsive behavior. Because I am very sensitive to medications at higher doses, I am taking liquid prozac at 1.2 mg a day, and 1.5 mg of Buspar a day. I have noticed that I feel a bit better on days when I am taking a little less Buspar. I have read that this drug combination is common, is there a standard doage given for the two in combo? I have read that some take 20mg Prozac and 15 mg Buspar (4:3 ratio) and others have taken 20mg Prozac and 5 mg Buspar (4:1) ratio. Can those of you taking both please tell what doage you are taking of each? I'm sure there's a ratio here that gives the best results. I know that when I have tried taking a lot of Buspar comparitively (2.5 mg) I get really suicidal and negative, so the balance must be very obvious to my brain. Thanks for any information in advance.
