I don't "feel" anything from it either. But from my experience, if you get into an anxiety provoking situation, say if the throat tightens and your heart races when you have to give a speech, or when asking that special girl for a date, Inderal will block those physical fight/flight responses. Which helps maintain calmness.
I've never tried the extended release version. As Ed alluded, the standard formula may be stronger, and more suited for situational anxiety.
