Good for you! Effexor worked very well for me for almost two years. I know what you mean about the insomnia. MY GP added 25mg of doxepin (a TCA) at bedtime and it worked very well with the Effexor. I still take it with my clonazepam and Lexapro. I hope you continue to feel so well!
