testosterone for ssri/snri sexual dysfunction?

Posted by Kreedi on April 4, 2006, at 1:22:33

So I'm on Effexor XR 225; added 30 mg Buspar last year as an augmentation strategy. So far, so good. But now that I'm having sex (or trying to have sex), the delayed orgasm side effect is becoming increasingly frustrating.

My T-levels are mid-normal range (33-year-old man). Having tried Androgel briefly (friend's leftovers), it seemed to improve my motivation and energy. I'd like to try it long-term, at a moderately high dose, to see if it helps with libido and orgasm too.

I'd be curious to know if anyone has had testosterone prescribed specifically for AD-induced sexual dysfunction, and particularly for delayed orgasms. Pointers to relevant studies, personal experiences, non-wild hypotheses -- all welcome.
