Marty,
I had problem with my pituitary two years ago. I felt sluggish but otherwise fine. A thorough blood workup showed a slight testosterone deficiency (190 ng/dL.) I opted to try treatment and see whether it made me feel better or worse. My doc described the gels, patch, buccal etc. "Just give me the shot in my *ss" I said. I walked out of office with a large (400mg) shot of test ethanoate.
An hour later I was walking downtown and thought "why am I bouncing on my feet and full of beans?" A young woman walked by, smiled and held my gaze and I thought "ow -I know what that smile means." I got to work and was in great form in a meeting. I realized pretty quickly that addressing this deficiency seemed to make a real difference.
So here's what I have found:
I feel smarter, more energetic, more optimistic with test supplementation. I have not seen "roid rage" My body has more muscle, less fat. Side effects: a slight facial ruddiness, mild back acne, much greater sexual interest, bigger appetite. The biggest frustrations are actually practically how to take it. Shots every two weeks ar ean interupption. The Testim gel smells nasty. The patch seemes less effective and falls off if you sweat. The buccal gum that sits under your lip sounds gross. I end up with a mix of shots and testim gel,All in, no regrets whatsoever - I feel ten years younger.
I suspect that some of teh medical information I read might be a little slanted, or at the elast, underappreciative of teh positive effects of test supplementation.Just one guys experience.
