Hey Monkey talk, I've had a 2 year road with Wellbutrin. I tried Wellbutrin XL after having weight gain and emotional problems on Prozac. The first 2 weeks of XL, I had an imense great energy, I cleaned my house, stopped procrastinating and had less cravings for junk food (sugar & carbs). But that intense happy energy didn't last long. I had problems with the extended release (the XL version). It seemed as though my body wouldn't process it. I became lethargic, constantly tired, apethetic, aggressive, angry and emotional. The opposite of who I am. I switched to Wellbutrin SR 150 mg which has a shorter release. That worked for a while but I became a little lazy again but most of all I became aggressive or what my family would call "agro". I noticed raging feelings while driving if someone would cut me off. I noticed lashing out at family members for the smallest things. This is NOT something I would normally do. I'm known as a very nice, kind person. So, I now cut the SR 150 dose in half, once a day. I still get a little agro at the end of the day but it's not as severe. But I don't have the energy some people get while on Wellbutrin. The week and a half that I cut the dose in half, I encountered extreme muscle pain and fatigue. I have fibromyalgia and prior to the doseage cut Wellbutrin helped with the pain. After 2 weeks of adjusting that pain subsided. By the way, I have lost 25 pounds in the past year. This was an effort *I* initiated not totally Wellbutrin driven. However, the Wellbutrin helped me resist sugar and carbohydrate cravings. I have not had sugar for one year now. I'm healthier for it. :)
Wellbutrin works differently for everyone. Hopefully it works out for you. Pay attention to any changes within the first 2 to 3 weeks. Talk with your doctor about how to adjust to the best dose that is right for you.
Good Luck!
