Hi:
I took Serzone 600 mg. tid that was quite a long time ago, then switched a generic version, 'Nefadozone.' However, this med. completely stopped working on me. Then, my pdoc. rx'ed 'Trazodone' which I've been taking along with other meds., due to Bp II with rapid cycler. In my recollection, ... Serzone/Nefadozone has sedative effect due to 'Anxiety' efficacy. For me, at the beginning of this med. therapy, I was able to sleep throughout nights. However, this med. has a 'bad reputation'(mostly, media, ... nothing worry about, ... just one in million's case), also I was on Lithium 900 mg., then I stopped completely.
It did NOT give me 'jumpy' feelings, ... rather 'calming' efficacy to give me not only 'Anxiety' that brought on by Bp II, but also anti-depressive one. However, most of folks do NOT choose to take Nefadozone as knowing this med. using for 'milder' depression, ...not for mid.to severe form of depression.
However, it CERTAINLY helped me at first, because there were NO good anti-deps., due to my allergic reaction to all of SSRIs. Serzone/Nefadone saved me from deep-end depression.
