antidepressants: bp, weight gain, and sex

Posted by MountainGuy on November 22, 2005, at 22:11:18

I've been on Wellbutrin since March 2003; current dose of 200 mg. BID for the last year. My blood pressure has been in the borderline/HTN range for some time, and this week took a sharp upturn for no clear dietary, behaviorial, or other reason.

Considering that the BP spike may have been caused at least in part by the Wellbutrin, I've been looking around for alternatives.

Serzone or Trazodone seem to be the most desirable from my point of view in that they generally don't raise BP, aren't known to cause weight gain, and generally don't impair sexual function -- all important traits in my book.

Am I on the right track? Is there a better choice that fits this bill?
