I've actually dropped the Provigil now, because it was having a negative effect on my mood -- and, ironically, I don't feel nearly as wiped out now as when I was taking it! On it, I needed a daily nap, now I mostly don't. Go figure?
Anyway, I've read your other posts, too, and will suggest staying away from SSRIs because some research says you're absolutely right about the over abundance of serotonin. Walter Kaye at UPMC did a study trying to show that a serotonin deficit was involved in AN. Turns out he couldn't -- but he did find an overabundance of it, which seems to predate the onset of AN, and may be part (or all) of the cause of it. That would go a long way towards explaining why so many with AN do so poorly on SSRIs.
Cymbalta has been pretty low key for me, although it did kinda wipe me out for a while. Most of the effects I had from it at first changed after about three weeks or so, so if you can manage to get through the first couple of weeks, you'll get a better idea of whether it wants to make friends with you.
Adding Provigil to it might be a good solution for you, too, since it would help counter the tiredness at first.
Sorry -- I just got into a hurry (never answer the telephone), so I can't finish this.
