Although this is off the psychiatric path, does anyone know of a resource where I can find out about allergic reactions to drugs and the other substances combined with drugs/injections. It is suspected I am allergic to heparin but I may have been allergic to the sulfites, benzyl alcohol, or pork products in the heparin.
I'm just trying to find out the most likely culprit for my reactions.
The long lasting effects of the heparin flush: increased heart rate (15-20 beats faster), irregular heartrate, sweating (like a thin layer of grease), dry mouth, dry eyes. These last 10-14 days.
Short acting effects: tingling, aching, back pain, sudden fatigue, nausea, profound headaches with light sensitivity, fever and sweating. These begin about one and a half hours following flush and last 6 to twelve hours.
The allergy may have affected my wound healing, platelet production, and immunity.
