In my opinion .. doc's don't know what else to do with the hyperactive thyroid, so they most always opt for the drastic .. like RAI (or whatever) that will put the patient into a permanent state of hypothyroidism. That is why you see so much "more" on hypO than hypEr. There are many people that are already out there just naturally as hypO.. but, even if you started out as hypEr, docs don't like you to stay "there" for long ...

"Seems like hypothyroidism gets the most attention, maybe more than it deserves."
