> Hello All,
> I understand where you are coming from. I was just diagnosed with ADD this year...it only took 35 years to figure what kept me back in school, etc. I was experiencing some bouts of depression, but they turned out to be secondary to my ADD--these were relationship issues. I am now taking Focalin XR with great results. My desk is actually clear, I pay attention to my family, etc. Many times, when I go on vacation, I will take a "drug holiday" without any repercussions. Good Luck! That's great experience. I envy you. I was diagnosed a bunch of years ago. Tried (in order): ritalin, metadate, focalin, strattera, wellbutrin, adderall, dexedrine, concerta. Initially I found that the distraction disappeared and I could focus better at work, but my procrastination and disorganization haven't really shifted. In some ways my memory and organization seem to be getting worse. Not certain why this would be. I took a job that was unsuitable for an ADHD person and "failed upwards" by being promoted out of it. The frustration is the recognition that tweaking the meds rally won't changed thinsg enormously. Maybe I need ADHD coaching?
Have you done any non-medication things to improve your symptoms?
