Hey Tom,
> Did you get my email?Cheers, yes I did. I think I'm going to wait awhile before I see any doc privately mainly because I'm moving soon and I won't have a job!
> Its interesting that Reboxetine seems to be helping your anxiety.
Yep, it does, although I am cautious about this because the celexa/cipramil is still in my system and its too early to tell. No problems yet though.
> Apparently there's a big link between ADD and anxiety, I'm not quite sure why though
I didn't know this. I have heard that reboxetine can be used to treat ADD, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to try it - I've scored really highly in some online adult ADD tests.
> I'm worried it wouldn't work for me because I can't tolerate caffeine, and people have compared Reboxetine to caffeine
Really? I didn't know this! hmmmmm......its not really like caffeine.
> How dose caffeine effect you? And how does it compare to Rebox
Well, I do drink coffee, in fact in the mornings I always have a cup and usually one in the afternoon. The one in the afternoon sometomes makes be feel alittle wired. But I think I can tolerate caffine. As for reboxetine being like caffeine, well, I can't really say - I find the reboxetine quite calming to be honest. It keeps me focused in a clear way and also gives me energy. Thing is, before the rebox I was sleeping all the time, had no concentration/energy/motivation (I'm an atypical depressive) so rebox has pushed me into being in the normal zone of stimulation if you like. If you were already quite buzzed then I guess rebox would make you more buzzed, which might be too activating for some people. Also I will have to give it more time, because some of the no energy thing could be down to the celexa side effects. I'm liking it so far!
I think reboxetine is useful if you have atypical depressive symptoms - overeating, oversleeping, lethargy etc. which I have found to be aggrevated by celexa and venlafaxine.
Dunno if your GP would prescribe it - I tried one at the health centre, he said NO WAY but then I tried another one, and he was pretty open to it!
take care
Meri-TuuliPS A weird thing happened today - I slipped on the stairs and landed on my *ss (!!LOL) and instead of getting that 'shocked' feeling where your stomach feels like its hit the floor, I got a lightened slightly dizzy feeling.....it was definately strange! I guess its the noradrenaline affecting the 'flight/fight' response.
