I can tell you a little about Luvox and my experience with it. Luvox was the first SSRI ever markteted. It was made in Europe in the mid 70's and used for OCD and Depression. It wasn't prescribed in the US or Australia (I'm an aussie) until the mid 90's. It is only approved in the US for OCD but the rest of the world uses it for depression and other off label uses. I have tried quite a few different SSRI's and my doc changed me to Luvox because it had the least sexual side effects ONLY if you are taking 150mg or less. Everything was fine until my dose was increased up to 300mg per day and then the sexual dysfunction came back straight away. No more orgasms again. My dose had to be raised because my depression came back again, so if you can manage on a dose of 150mg per day or less then maybe give it a try. Now for the bad news!! I was on it for 14 months before it stopped working for me but everyone is different. I had to stop it for a 4 day washout period before I could change to Effexor XR which I hear has horrendous withdrawal's too which I'm yet to find out about. Luvox had the worst withdrawal symptoms I have ever experienced and they came on like lightning and hit really hard, (within 24hrs) and spiral out of control very, very quickly. Numb lips, arms and legs, brain shocks, zaps, vertigo, nausea, crying, I'm sure you know what I mean but this was insane because of how fast it happens. I haven't felt this from having to swap drugs quickly. It was a much slower process. I have spoken to people who tapered this drug (to lessen withdrawal symptoms)and they experienced it during their entire tapering process. Everyone is different, this was my Luvox experience, I hope it helped to inform you a little but I would never touch it again. Good Luck and I hope I was of some help.
