It is really hard to predict these things. Here's a hopeful story though. I had a friend with a very similar story to yours. After a little while on an AP, she got much better. Her doc actually said that she probably didn't have schiz symptoms, just regular depression that looked really bad.
She also was in therapy and that seemed to help her too.
