In reply to cymbalta and irritability--back to celexa?, posted by jessers11581 on April 21, 2005, at 15:17:40
If I were you, I would probably try 45 mg and see how that works. If you still have 30 mg capsules, you can easily open one up and pour half of it into another 30 mg capsule.
> Well, I finally upped my Cymbalta dose to 60 mg. and notice that I have started to feel extremely irritable and bitter towards the world. At work today, I literally wanted to kill all my customers because they were getting on my nerves so bad. Is this normal? When I first started taking Cymbalta at 30 mg. a day, I felt great. But after about a week, that died away so I went ahead and did the increase that my doctor had originally recommended. And now I feel like a complete mega-b!#@h! I almost think maybe I need to be focusing exclusively on serotonin and should just forget about norepinephrine and dopamine. What do you guys think? I did great on SSRI's for years and years. I think the problem is that I just developed a tolerance for them. My favorite is Celexa, but I had to keep raising the dose over the years. Does anyone know if 50 mg. is too much? What sorts of side effects might that dose produce? When I stopped taking Celexa about a month ago, I was at 40 mg., which didn't seem to be quite cutting it. If I go up any more, will I become a completely lethargic, non-sexual being? Man, I'm so freaking confused right now. I'll be so happy when all of this is over.
