Greetings all. =) I have visited this site from time to time, mostly through google searches btw, and it usually has helped me with a question or two that I have been having regarding medication(s). Granted, I realize that any suggestions or advice given out on this site should be taken with a grain of salt, and when in doubt, ask your doctor. =) Anywhoo, with all that aside, here's my question. Basically, like the subject says, does anyone know what a reasonable "maximum" daily dosage as well a "maximum" dosage that she be taken at once? The reason that I am asking is the following. As it stands now, I am currently taking 450mg of Effexor XR a day. (3 150mg pills) From what I understand, this is a pretty high dose of Effexor XR. Which, from some of the medication that I have taken in the past, (Paxil, Zoloft, Elavil, Wellbutrin, Zyprexa, Abilify, Ritalin and it's extended/reformulated version, and some others) to get any real benefit, I seem to require more than the usual Joe. So, when it comes to the Adderall XR, I seem to get a maximum benefit from a single dose of 60mg in the morning. Which, that seems to work just wonderfully for my "problems," but it seems to only last about 6 or so hours tops. Now, I do realize that 60mg in and of itself is a high dose (unless I am mistaken), so I am wondering if taking more than that (daily dose), is really a "bad thing." Granted, I will be asking my doctor at my next scheduled visit (soon), but I thought I'd throw that question or two out and see what I get beforehand. Also, I am well aware of the difference between the "high" feeling that one can get when first starting a stimulant, and when things just seem to feel "right" or "normal" when you are on a good dosage. As it stands now, the Adderall XR seems to work really, really well for me, when it comes to side effects, so I don't really want to change if at all possible. I also do realize that there is something stronger Dexedrine available, but I don't like to mess with what works. =) Anyways, sorry for the length, but I thought a little background info. was necessary. BTW, as it seems that I haven't mentioned it yet, I have been seeking help for my "mental" condition/problems/whatever you want to call it this week, for about 5 years now. Thanks!
