i used to take 15mgs abilify with my adderall, until I dropped the abilify. Basically, it reduces the effect of the stimulant in question, but the combo is still used sometimes. As for your brain "needing less dopamine," there's no research to support the "dopamine hypothesis," which holds that people with certain mental illnesses have more dopamine or are hyper-sensitive to it. It is true that all antipsychotics dampen dopamine (SIGNIFICANTLY...think 70-90%), but it is NOT supported by any research that this "corrects a chemical imbalance". Just thought I'd post that.
