If your anxiety is on ongoing problem, you should definitely switch to a longer-acting benzo like Klonopin. I have a similar problem now with anxiety, and the Xanax doesn't even last long enough to keep me asleep for more than about 4 horus once my anxiety reaches a certain level. I plan to ask for a switch to Klonopin.
