Trazodone is not my friend, either. I've only taken it ONCE -- like one tablet. Ended up sitting in the living room most of the night, with my husband up with me because I needed the comfort of his company so very much. Not fun...
Have you ever tried beta blockers for your anxiety? I tried a very low dose of propranalol, and it was a miracle drug for me. Bye bye anxiety, no brain fog, although I did have a certain amount of amotivation. It might be worth talking to your doctor about?
