The problem is that although Klonopin takes away the anxiety it leaves me feeling appathetic and with no desire to socialise.

When i'm on nardil i feel like a different person-no depression/lonliness, but i still felt anxious. When i combined nardil with klonopin i felt like i was in a daze and didn't care about socializing with anyone. Currently I'm taking nardil with xanax xr and this combo seems to work much better for me...although most people who post here will tell you to try Klonopin first. Other meds you may want to ask your pdoc about are the antipsychotics and the anticonvulsants. Antipsychotics stop the constant stream of anxious thoughts in your head, while anticonvulsants seem to augment antidepressants very well. Geodon and lamictal are two meds you may want to ask about. Keep experimenting and sooner or later you'll find the right combo.
