MAOI and beta blockers ?!

Hi,

My psychiatrist told me on tuesday that he would rx a MOAI along with a beta blocker. That I could take in a case of hypertensive crisis.

Would I really have time to take a beta blocker, and that it would be rapidly absorbed so it would help?!

I really must ask my doctor for information about hypertensive cisis, how it feels like?!
