Topomax for Migraine Birth Control Meds

I went to the neuro today for migraines and he is starting me on Topomax. I asked him about the effect of the med together with the birth control med I am currently taking. He said he was pretty sure it will effect the effectiveness of the BC and I should consider other methods. Is anyone taking Topomax along with birth control med??
