> I've used Prozac successfully for over 5 yrs (after trying just about everything else) and now my pdoc wants to add Wellbutrin, just a low dose, to help with the lack of motivation and agitation I seem to get with Prozac. Has anyone had any experience with this combination. Prozac works wonderfully for my major depression. Thanks, Karen
I just started this combination 3 days ago, and so far am loving it. I'm currently on 20mg Prozac, 450mg Wellbutrin SR, and 5mg Adderall XR, a day. My pdoc decided to switch from St. John's Wort to Prozac since I was concerned about some mild social anxiety issues that I've had all my life.
I didn't expect to feel any effects of adding the Prozac for a couple of weeks, so I found it odd that I was already getting a response. Perhaps it's a placebo effect at this point, but I'm definitely noticing something, especially in energy, self-esteem, and optimism department. I seem to need about an hours less sleep as well.
I originally started on Wellbutrin since I was experiencing lack of motivaton and energy, which the wellbutrin helped wonderfully for. The Adderall helped a bit more, but the Prozac I think is completing the last part of the puzzle. I should get a better picture about the efficacy of this combination in a few weeks.
