I think that a lot of problems can occur with stimulants and nutrition. While on stimulants I would find my anxiety increased and my appetite decreased. Both of which can lead to nutritional deficiancies.
I think you are wise in planning a break from stimulants. I would combine a healthy diet, vitamin pills and exercise. Another supplement idea is omega 3. Omega 3 works to fatten up the serotonin and dopamine receptors and make them more versatile. Also make sure you are getting enough protein to produce the catecholamine neurotransmitters.
Finally, keep checks on your emotional health sleep etc, which can clearly effect your cognition.
