It is not a weight loss drug, but some lose weight on it. It has many side effects. Here are some side effect that many get while taking this drug, myself included.
Hair loss.
Tingling hands and feet
Loss of memory
Cognitive problems
Glaucoma
Inability to think properly "blonde syndrome".
I had to get off it due to the stupids. I switched to Zonegran, which has same therapeutic results, less harsh side effects.
