Effexor XR Withdrawal

Posted by retiredgran on October 9, 2004, at 23:42:39

I am an older female and have been taking Effexor XR for close to 2 years. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I was prescribed this med to help with pain, sleep and claustrophobia. The claustrophobia was new at the time. I take 225 mg a day. I have a history of reactions to many, many drugs and have tried most of the antidepressants with bad results. Effexor XR seemed to be working well until recently. I have developed so many of the side effects and decided to get off of it. My doctor told me to gradually withdraw and I should be off of it in about 10 days. It has been 2 days since I have taken any and started to feel nauseated and nervous. I came on this website by accident, thank God. I had no idea to connect it to the med. When I read all the posts I took a dose of 75mg to try & feel better. I see my dr. in 4 days and have lots of questions for him. I also take thyroid med and had no idea both of these meds could interfere with each other. Thanks so much for all of your
input.
