Luminal or Klonopin and antipsychotic properties?

Do these two meds, Klonopin, and Luminal do they calm racing, or chaotic thoughts.
I researched that Luminal was used in Asylums back in the 1910's and 1920's, after it replaced Chloral Hydrate. Before the major AP's came out in the 1950's
If you know info about either one, please put in put.
