hi gg...the white-paper indicates weight gain, and i have one m.s. (not a great one, and funded by ortho-mcneil: C. B. Nemeroff, J. Clin. Psychiatry 64:5 pp. 532-539, May 2003) on my desk that states that mean weight gain for olanzapine (zyprexa) from a meta-analysis of 81 journal articles is 9.22 lb. (4.15 kg) and that ``evidence is mounting that antipsychotic treatment may impair glucose tolerance'' and that the drugs implicated are chlorpromazine, clozapine, and olanzapine. i do recall there being a flurry of diabetes mellitus risk, but do not have the refs on hand or in mind. be glad to track 'em down, if you'd like, to confirm/deny.....all the best, chemist
