I suppose many of us have heard by now that Adderall XR has now been officially approved to treat adult ADHD. In the press release I read, mention was also made of 40, 50 and 60 mg doses of the drug under review by the FDA for possible release. Any other information on this? The 60 mg form twice a day would be a welcome change from my current 30mg Adderall IR four times daily. Medicaid only covers 100 units of any oral amphetamine product prescribed for ADHD, so the 120 30 mg Adderall XR I'd need to achieve this same response is simply beyond my financial means.
Also, while poking around on Shire's website I came across a press release from a few months ago concerning MethyPatch (the methylphenidate transdermal system) and was incredibly surprised to discover that Shire is also planning some sort of amphetamine patch as well... this was certainly news to me, but perhaps someone else knows something? Thanks!
