If you're not, however, then I'd speak w/ your doctor either about increasing the dosage or switching to another stimulant medication - maybe the Adderall XR version or Focalin (dexmethylphenidate - a refined formulation of *R*).

THanks guys.I posted another post ("Ritalin-Adderall Withdrawal") FYI.
I've realized now, after three days without any R--having been on 40mg R for over a year--that I may be having withdrawal, since the Adderall doesn't seem to be working (even at 60mg/div/day.
Thanks for the Focalin advice--I have a hunch (and my hunches about what I need med-wise have always been very good)--that Focalin is just what I need.
I think it will provide the "vacation" from straight Ritalin that I need, since it wasn't workng well anymore, and I didn't want to go higher than 50mg a day.
Since I don't seem to respond well to amphetamine, what other stim options are there, besides modafinil (too expensive/not covered) or Cylert?
Thanks Cressida and other person (sorry, can't remember your handle) for your advice!
John
