Diazepam is on the PBS. Clonazepam is only PBS-subsidised for epilepsy.

Almost entirely for depression.

I'm not so sure - my pharmacist said it's only about $12-$15.

Recreational doses (100 or 200 mg) can cause extreme anxiety/jitteriness, but in psychiatry they generally prescribe less than 60 mg a day, which mostly has a calming, focussing, motivating effect. Also, dextroamphetamine is much less anxiety-provoking than methylphenidate or mixed amphetamine salts.

'Fraid so - state laws say that this is needed, except for ADHD and narcolepsy.
