Hi chemist.

I think it is the 5-HT alpha-1 antagonist properties of pindolol that are thought to facilitate whatever adjunctive value it might have.

The way I read the early literature regarding pindolol was that it didn't so much augment the antidepressant response as it did produce an improvement earlier in treatment. They used the term "hasten the reponse".
