Wellbutrin is regularly criticised here for being a weak antidepressant and for causing anxiety. A stimulant would make you more sociable, whilst having a calming, focussing effect. There are conflicting reports in the scientific literature as to how Wellbutrin works. Does it block dopamine reuptake? Does it cause noradrenaline release? Does it block noradrenaline reuptake? On the other hand, amphetamines are known to work by causing release of, and blocking reuptake of, dopamine and also noradrenaline. Personally I trust a drug much more if I know how it works.
