Jaby. Thanks for your interest. I have read the all of the posts on this site. No real information on experiences (successes or failures). I have researched this drug on the internet, reviewing all the summaries/articles I could find. I was hoping for some real life data here. It appears to have a relatively benign side effect profile, with a potentially helpful psychotropic effect for bipolar ii. It appears to be used more than verapamil now, at least by NIMH and the 2000 expert concensus (Sachs, et al.). I was going to give verapamil (slow-acting version a try) a la Dubovsky (U. Colo.), but my p-doc and I decided on nimodipine instead because it, among other things, is apparently more lipophilic than verapamil and works on Ca blockage inside the cell (vis-a-vis exterior to cell for verapamil). Anyway, I was hoping for dosing information.
