While Seroquel made me lose 1 pound per week without me doing anything, with the Zyprexa I went from 105 back to 110 in no time. It changes your appetite and also your metabolism ... something about insulin and blood sugar ... its a very potent AP but also a nasty med for weight gain.

I was on 10mg. In the first six weeks (i started on 5mg) i gained 35 pounds. Yes, 35 pounds. I have eventually lost it all but 5 by simply not being on it. It made me sleep 10-12 hours a day, and basically ruined my life. It did nothing for anxiety, depression, or psychotic glitches. It was a mistake to go on it, and I am embarrassed that I bothered. I pity authentic schizophrencs and psychotic people who have to take this poison. It's part benozdiazipine, so if you have had xanax munchies, you know what this can do to you.

I was on a Zoloft/yprexa combo. I wanted off both because zoloft adds an hour of sleep per day for me.

What is not often stated is that a mood stabilizer can have an effect on psychotic symptoms. I take one now, and that is not exactly the most fun since after I take it I get a little dizzy and have a drunk feeling, but it's far better than zyprexa, and it adds no extra sleep.
