What field of medicine do you practice?
Keep in mind, no two depressives or bipolars are the same. What works for one may throw another to the pits of hell.
I hate giving a nickel to pharm companies and was on Naders' site yesterday reading about the lies and big buyoffs of government and it will make you sick.
I've tried everything a person can since being diagnosed over 20 years ago.
All I can say to you is research these companies and lawmakers in office and vote the crooks out. I fully agree there but making a blanket statement that we don't need all these drugs only heaps more shame on those of us that owe our lives to them. We hear it from well meaning friends, families and unsolicited advisors. Many of us, in frustration, may listen and try to appease our detractors. And there will be some that die because of it or because we can no longer afford meds.
I know how you feel but think this over. Would you tell a diabetic, a cancer patient, Parkinsons sufferer that they really don't need that much medication?
Mental illness is becoming the leading killer of people all over the world. I thank God daily for meds and also ask if he could get society to understand. We are one of a small group of patients that suffer a terrible disease. Then we are told we really just need to___________.
